Chengdu Emei Shan and Leshan, Sichuan. Aug 2-5, 2015

Is the provincial capital of Sichuan Province that is located in Southeast China.

How did we get here:Bus from Chishui (4.3 hours, 120 rmb per person)
Sleep: (1 night) Couchsurfing at Avners apartment. A lovely Israeli person who found his home in Chengdu.
Did: Human body exhibition (60 rmb entrance fee) and a free photo exhibition at the Tianfu Square.
Bottom line: A nice city with good food.

Leshan

How did we get here: Bus (48 rmb) from Chengdu bus station took us 2 hours
Sleep: Le Cheng hotel (140 rmb including breakfast) Lovely clean rooms. and there top floor tea house is really nice.
Did: Leshan Grand buddha (90 rmb entrance fee)  that includes the temple near the statue. I recommend getting to the the buddha first thing in the morning. Because there a lot of tourists that come to see the statue and the steps are really narrow so you can find yourself standing in a really long line. After the statue you can continue to the Wuyousi Temple thorow "Cliff road" that is really nice.
*Leshan has a really easy and efficient public bus transportation system. Get there easy to use public free map.

#Leshan is the best place to get your Visa extension. you get it after one working day instead of 5 working days in Chengdu.
You need to bring: You need to check in a hotel in Leshan and bring there registration form,  160 rmb, your visa and passport copy, 1 passport copy and you need to fill out a itinerary there.

Emei Shan

Sleep: Mt. Emei 3077 (35 rmb for a bed in a 4 bed dormitory) not a good room but there restaurant is a nice place to Chill.
Did: Well at first we plan to walk for two-three days on the mountain. So we woke up really early and went to the bus station to take the first bus that goes up the mountain. But when we got to the bus station (5 am) it was already full with local tourists so after trying to get a ticket for half an hour. We decided to skip the mountain because of the crowds.
We went for a morning walk to the nearby Luoteng Nunnery (free), Fuhu Temple (6 rmb entrance fee) and Banguo Temple (8 rmb entrance fee)
Bottom line: We didn't do the hike around the mountain But we heard good things about it :) If you get the chance to somehow skip the crowds do try to go.
